Overview

Dr. Archana Dimri is an Assistant Professor (Ad hoc) in the Department of Ancient
Indian History, Culture & Archaeology at Kanya Gurukul Campus, Gurukul Kangri
(Deemed to be University), Dehradun. She holds a Ph.D. from HNB Garhwal University
on the Uttarakhand Andolan and is recognized as the first woman scholar to research this
historic people’s movement. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she has
presented more than 45 research papers at national and international conferences and
published 22 research papers in reputed U.G.C & refereed journals, proceedings. Her
authored book “Uttarakhand Andolan: Ahimsatmak Jan Andolan” (2020) has been
included in Uttarakhand state school libraries. She has been honored with several awards
including the Daughter of Uttarakhand Award (2022) and Global Excellence Award
(2023). Her research interests include Uttarakhand’s regional history, folk traditions,
cultural heritage, and women’s participation in social and environmental movements.
