About
I am Dr. Savita, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Kanya Gurukula Dehradun, Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar, with over 18 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience. I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, where my research focused on Social Feature-Based Routing in Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs). I also hold an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and a B.Tech. in Information Technology from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (I.E.T.), Lucknow, along with qualifying the UGC-NET examination and the GATE examination.
My research lies at the intersection of Delay Tolerant Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Fuzzy Systems, and Water resource management. In recent years, I have expanded my work to interdisciplinary domains by applying computational techniques to water resource management, environmental sustainability, and traditional water conservation systems. As the Co-Principal Investigator of a UCOST-funded research project, I have been involved in field-based research on natural water resources in Dehradun, focusing on water source assessment, conservation, and sustainable management.
I have authored 20+ research publications in internationally reputed SCI, Scopus-indexed, and peer-reviewed journals, including publications with Wiley, Springer, Elsevier, and other leading publishers. I have also published 15+ conference papers and book chapters and contributed to 2 patents. My scholarly contributions also include invited talks, editorial and session-chair responsibilities, and active participation in national and international conferences.
Beyond research, I am deeply committed to academic excellence, mentoring students and young researchers, curriculum development, and quality assurance initiatives. I actively organize workshops, faculty development programs, and expert lectures on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Python Programming, and Research Methodology.
I strongly believe that meaningful research should create a positive impact on society. My long-term vision is to develop innovative, intelligent, and sustainable technological solutions that address real-world challenges while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, high-quality research, and academic excellence.
